    Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 1

    PORT GENTIL, Gabon (Dec. 12, 2018) Builder 2nd Class Robert Stewart, assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 1, uses a steel trowel to seal the concrete during construction of the Maritime Operations Center (MOC) at the Gabonese Navy Base. The MOC construction is in support of exercise Obangame Express scheduled for March 2019. NMCB-1 is forward-deployed to execute construction, humanitarian and foreign assistance, and theater security cooperation in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations.
