Shawn Kenney, Assistant Operations Manager for Locks and Dams, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Louisville District, provides an update to local media during a briefing held Friday, Dec. 28, 2018 along the Ohio River Greenway near the upper McAlpine dam where nine barges are pinned following an incident Dec. 25 where the towing vessel struck the Clark Memorial Bridge causing the barges to break free. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Coast Guard and industry partners are working to salvage the barges as safely and efficiently as possible.
