A collage of pictures depicting the Coast Guard Cutter Steadfast and her crew over the last 50 years surround a cake and officer sword on display during a celebration at the Columbia River Maritime Museum in Astoria, Ore., Dec. 7, 2018.
Throughout the Caribbean during the 1970s crew members aboard the Steadfast seized more than 110 tons of narcotics bound for U.S. shores and Colombian drug traffickers reportedly nicknamed them “El Tiburon Blanco," which translates to "The White Shark."
