The streets of Al-Asad Air Base, Iraq, which once bustled with the activity of almost 22,000 U.S. forces are now barren as personnel withdraw from Iraq. Paratroopers assigned to 407th Brigade Support Battalion, 2nd Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division, are among the last 1,000 service members on Al-Asad and are preparing to turn over the base to the Iraqi army.
