U.S. Air Force 1st Lt. Jonathan Wright, 390th Electronic Combat Squadron and Electronic Attack Squadron 135 (VAQ-135) “Black Ravens” EA-18G Growler pilot, dons his gear Nov. 20, 2018, at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar. Wright is the first Air Force pilot to operate a Growler on a combat mission. VAQ-135 is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
