U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Courtney Jewel, an Explosive Ordnance Disposal technician, places a 2 1/2 inch rocket into a tube during a static-fire range operation at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C., Nov. 14, 2018. In total, six rocket engines were used during the EOD annual training exercise. During the training, EOD technicians removed explosives from the rockets, allowing them to be used safely in future demonstrations. In addition to the annual training, the Marines also conduct live-fire and static-fire range operations on a bi-weekly to monthly basis. Jewel is assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron.
