U.S. Army Pfc. Alexis Facto, assigned to the 71st Medical Detatchment, 421st Multifunctional Medical Battalion, tests a water sample at Mihail Kogalniceanu Airbase, Romania, on Nov. 14, 2018. The 71st Medical Detachment asseses and recomends improvement for infrastructure throughout the region as part of the ongoing effort to strengthen the U.S. Army's presence in Europe.
"The primary mission is the health and welfare of the population," said Maj. Faustino Rodriguez, commander of the 71st MEDD. "Whether it's U.S. or NATO partners, regardless if it's this location or anywhere else in the Atlantic Resolve region, our responsibility is to ensure they have potable water."
