181111-N-BY281-1724 HOUSTON (Nov. 11, 2018) Navy Aviation Boatswain Mate 2nd Class Alex Williams, a recruiter from Navy Recruiting District (NRD) Houston, waves to the crowd while being honored alongside other service members during the Houston Rockets basketball game at Toyota Center Stadium, Sunday, Nov. 11. The military members earned the gesture for their participation in the 2018 Hoops for Troops community service event where they joined retired Houston Rockets players and staff members in restoring two homes owned by military veterans that were partially destroyed by Hurricane Harvey, August 2017. Hoops for Troops is a year-round initiative led by the NBA to honor active and retired service members and their families.
