Pfc. Sergio Loeza practices martial arts training aboard USS Pearl Harbor Nov. 17. Loeza, a 19-year-old Kansas City, Kan., native, is a machine gunner with Company K, Battalion Landing Team 3/1, the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit's ground combat element. The unit embarked USS Makin Island, USS New Orleans and USS Pearl Harbor in San Diego Nov. 14 beginning a seven-month deployment through the western Pacific and Middle East regions.
