    Warships Underway for First East Coast Cruiser-Destroyer SWATT Exercise

    ATLANTIC OCEAN (Nov. 6, 2018) Cmdr. Zoe Arantz, the commanding officer of the Arleigh Burk-class guided-missile destroyer USS Nitze (DDG 94), monitors the ships navigational radar alongside the bridge watch team in support of Surface Warfare Advanced Tactical Training (SWATT). USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) carrier strike group (CSG) cruiser-destroyer (CRUDES) units participate in the first East Coast CRUDES SWATT. SWATT is led by the Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center (SMWDC) and is designed to increase warfighting proficiency, lethality and interoperability of participating units.
