Ruth Cortes, the physician’s assistant aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73), bows her head during the invocation while attending the Hispanic heritage ceremony on the floating accommodation facility (FAF). George Washington is undergoing refueling complex overhaul (RCOH) at Newport News Shipyard. RCOH is a four-year project performed once during an aircraft carriers life-cycle that includes refueling of the ship's two nuclear reactors, repairs, upgrades and modernization.
