Spc. Roy Carlton, squad automatic gunner for 3rd Platoon, 562nd Engineer Company, 2nd Brigade, suppresses the opposition force at the National Training Center Nov. 5 during a route reconnaissance situational training exercise. Forces using rocket propelled grenades and small arms fire attacked the platoon. Carlton reacted quickly laying down suppressive fire until other vehicles could maneuver to destroy the enemy.
