Capt. Matthew Laird, center, the 2nd Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division’s trial counsel, met with Brig. Gen. Saleh, the Anbar Operations Command legal adviser and the 1st Iraqi Army Division’s legal team at the AOC on Nov. 1. During the meeting, the 2/82 legal personnel were able to get a feel for the Iraqis’ legal process and ensure there was communication between the Division and it’s higher headquarters at the AOC. Laird is originally from Denver.
