181007-N-VG727-1008 WESTERN PACIFIC (Oct. 7, 2018) A coastguardsman of the U.S. Coast Guard Law Enforcement Detachment 107, embarked aboard Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Shoup (DDG 86), monitors a fishing vessel during the Oceania Maritime Security Initiative (OMSI) program in the Western Pacific Oct. 7, 2018. The OMSI program is a Secretary of Defense program leveraging Department of Defense assets transiting the region to increase the Coast Guard’s maritime domain awareness, ultimately supporting its maritime law enforcement operations in Oceania.
