Thomas, commander, Task Force 70, arrives on the flight deck of the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Benfold (DDG 65) by way of an MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter, assigned to the “Golden Falcons” Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 12. Benfold is forward-deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations in support of security and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
