Marines with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit ride aboard a commuter train while visiting the island nation of Singapore, Oct. 6, 2018. Singapore is a favorite destination for U.S. Marines and Sailors – the city hosts a wide variety of entertainment districts, shopping centers, markets and attractions for visiting Marines and Sailors to immerse themselves in the history and culture of the “Lion City.” Marines and Sailors with the 31st MEU arrived in Singapore aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1) October 2 for a port visit after more than a month at sea during a regularly-scheduled patrol of the Indo-Pacific region.
