French volunteers place candles on the gravestones of WWI era U.S. service members at the Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery located in Romagne-sous-Montfaucon, France, Sep. 23. The symbolic act is meant to demonstrate the French people’s remembrance for the 14,246 service members buried here who gave their lives during the Muese-Argonne Offensive which took place 100 years ago.
