National Guard Soldiers and Airmen who were activated in response to Hurricane Florence and its aftermath put their soiled uniforms in a laundry dropbox to have their clothes laundered by a group of local volunteers. Approximately 2,000 South Carolina Soldiers and Airmen along with Pennsylvania, Alaska, New York, Tennessee, Arkansas, Maryland, Virginia, Mississippi, Georgia and Wisconsin National Guardsmen are currently on duty to support local authorities in response and recovery operations to the ongoing flooding that followed Hurricane Florence’s landfall.
