Air Mobility Command

Centralized heat plants, such as this one at Fairchild Air Force Base, Wash., were closed as part of a 12-year initiative to save energy in Air Mobility Command. The last plant closed in 2011, and AMC is centralized heat plant-free. The Fairchild plant was closed in 2002.
