ATLANTIC OCEAN (Sept. 18, 2018) The San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS Arlington (LPD 24) operates off the coast of North Carolina. U.S. Naval Forces Northern Command deployed the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3), along with embarked elements of the 22nd MEU and the Expeditionary Strike Group 2 command element, to be positioned to provide Defense Support to Civil Authorities from the sea in response to Hurricane Florence, should support be requested.
