Several U.S. Army soldiers in ACU (Army Combat Uniform) are working at a table handling linked ammunition belts. The soldiers appear to be loading, sorting, or inspecting machine gun ammunition in what looks like a forward operating base or staging area. Metal ammunition cans are visible on the table alongside large quantities of linked cartridges.

Soldiers from the 261st Ordnance Company, 553rd Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 230th Sustainment Brigade, sort and count ammunition turned in by soldiers redeploying back to Kuwait from Iraq as part of the responsible drawdown of U.S. Forces from Iraq. The 261st are part of an operation known as Four Corners, designed to capture all retrograde material from self-redeploying units departing Iraq before the Dec. 31, 2011 deadline in support of Operation New Dawn.
