U.S. Air Force Gen. Terrence O’Shaughnessy, Commander of North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command, leads a Department of Defense senior leader conference call while aboard the USS Kearsarge (LHD-3) off the coast of North Carolina, Sept. 20, 2018. O’Shaughnessy was aboard the Kearsarge to discuss and coordinate recovery efforts following Hurricane Florence and to personally thank the Sailors and Marines conducting life saving operations. USNORTHCOM is the synchronizer for Department of Defense efforts supporting the Federal Emergency Management Agency and officials at all levels in North and South Carolina as they recover from Hurricane Florence.
