Rob Smith, a medic with the 8th Forward Surgical Team (Airborne), places an IV while instructing other medics in the proper technique during training Oct. 12 at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Oct. 12. The 8th FST will train at the Army Trauma Training Center in Miami, in mid-October, in preparation for an upcoming deployment.
