Corps survey vessels have begun assessments of impacted federal ports in NC, Sept. 17, 2018. Corps survey vessel Beaufort is surveying damage due to Hurricane Florence in the Port of Morehead City, the North Carolina Port, the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway, the inlet and coastline. (The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is integrated with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) to ensure federal channels are cleared as quickly as possible to enable rapid port reopening.
