Master Sgt. Leon R. Harpel, air
traffic control maintenance
department chief, uses a bolo to
chop branches of a tree at Clark
Veterans Cemetery Sept. 30.
Harpel, along with 6 other master
sergeants from Headquarters
and Headquarters Squadron,
traveled to the Philippines to
give VFW Post 2485 a hand
and clean up the cemetery.
The cemetery is not federally
funded, making funerals and
maintenance a volunteer basis.
This is the first trip in what the
Marines are hoping to make a
quarterly trip.
