Seaman Alexis Helmes of Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 3’s Convoy Security Element explains to some children staring at an Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle what the vehicle is does. The MRAP was staged at the high school by Seabees from NMCB 3 as part of Oxnard High School’s Seabee Night, an event started by the high school to build and maintain a partnership between Oxnard High School and local NMCBs. NMCB 3 is an expeditionary element of U.S. Navy providing construction, engineering and security services in support of national strategy, Naval power projection, humanitarian assistance and contingency operations.
