PHILIPPINE SEA (Sept. 8, 2018) A round fires from the close-in weapons system aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1) during a live-fire training exercise in the Philippine Sea, Sept. 8, 2018. Wasp, flagship of the Wasp Expeditionary Strike Group, with embarked 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, is operating in the Indo-Pacific region to enhance interoperability with partners and serve as a ready-response force for any type of contingency.
