We all can't deploy with our best friend. Military working dog (MWD) handlers assigned to the 379th Security Forces Squadron’s military working dog (MWD) section are responsible for protecting and defending the military installation with their canine partners by their side 24/7. Together, they comprise a formidable team whose bond is strengthened while deployed. “Deploying with a dog is probably one of the most unique and rewarding jobs that we have – and not only with SF but the military as a whole,” said Tech. Sgt. Dominick Petersen, 379th ESFS kennel master. “Our dogs are definitely not pets, they are military working dogs – assets to the U.S. Air Force…The trust these teams have in each other is hard to explain.”
