An Air Force reserve officer attached to the 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron carries his gear and food for his next Hurricane Hunters mission into hurricane Florence, Sep. 11, 2018 out of the Savanah Air National Guard base, Georgia. The cooler of food is necessary because most of the foights are on average 10 hours long. The U.S. Air Force Reserve 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron, or Hurricane Hunters, cunducts a storm tasking mission into Hurricane Florence, currently a category 4 storm.
