180906-N-UX013-3047 U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (Sept. 6, 2018) Fire Controlman 3rd Class Colton Olson fires an M240B machine gun under the instruction of Master-at-Arms 1st Class Brett Luchini during a weapons qualification course aboard the guided-missile destroyer USS Jason Dunham (DDG 109). Dunham is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
