    Lance Cpl. Connor Ryandealvarez, an assault amphibious vehicle crewman with Company E, Battalion Landing Team, 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines, packs gear inside the well deck aboard the dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48), underway in the Pacific Ocean, Sept. 11, 2018. Ryandealvarez, a native of Omaha, Nebraska, enlisted in December 2016. Marines and Sailors with Company E, currently underway aboard the Ashland, are preparing with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and Wasp Amphibious Ready Group to assist local agencies and the Federal Emergency Management Agency with distributing emergency relief supplies to the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands after it was struck by Typhoon Mangkhut, Sept. 10-11.
