NORFOLK (Sept. 5, 2018) Cmdr. Christopher J. Schwarz, commanding officer of the guided-missile destroyer USS Gonzalez (DDG 66), greets Rear Adm. Jesse A Wilson Jr., commander of Naval Surface Force Atlantic (COMNAVSURFLANT), aboard the ship. Wilson met with Vice Adm. Andrew "Woody" Lewis, commander of the recently reestablished U.S. 2nd Fleet (C2F), aboard the ship to discuss how COMNAVSURFLANT provides combat-ready surface forces for numbered fleet commanders and combatant commanders that are capable of conducting prompt, sustained naval, joint, and combined operations.
