FORT DRUM, N.Y. – A Soldier from 2nd Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (LI), fires an M3 Multi-Role Anti-Armor Anti-Personnel Weapon System (MAAWS), also known as the Carl Gustav, during training near Fort Drum, N.Y. Aug. 22. Both prior to and after firing the Gustav, the Soldiers of 2-22 Inf. participated in a hearing test designed to test the levels of hearing loss they acquired after firing the weapon as well as the effectiveness of the hearing protection used during the training event.
