Members of the Alaska Air and Army National Guard and Alaska State Defense Force participate in a three-day event honoring Alaska’s veterans during a veteran totem pole raising celebration in the city of Klawock on Prince of Wales Island, Aug. 16-18, 2018. The service members visited with local community members, took part in the traditional song and dance, and provided a color guard, two High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles and participants to help carry the 37-foot totem pole to its resting place in the newly constructed Veterans Totem Park against the shoreline of the Klawock Inlet.
