180827-N-ND356-0033 HONOLULU (Aug. 27, 2018) USS Missouri Chief Petty Officer (CPO) Legacy Academy Class 019 member Chief (Select) Gas Turbine System Mechanical Malvin Abellada from Queens, N.Y., observes historical information displayed on the walls of the Honolulu Memorial, at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. The CPO Legacy Academy is a six-day course in which the chief petty officers and selectees live aboard The USS Battleship Missouri Memorial and participate in preservation activities, leadership training, reenact scenarios that took place onboard USS Missouri, and learn lessons about the history and heritage of the U.S. Navy and CPO community.
