180827-N-ND356-0012 HONOLULU (Aug. 27, 2018) Gene Maestas, public affairs officer of the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, welcomes USS Missouri Chief Petty Officer (CPO) Legacy Academy Class 019 members and chief petty officers during a tour National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. The CPO Legacy Academy is a six-day course in which the chief petty officers and selectees live aboard The USS Battleship Missouri Memorial and participate in preservation activities, leadership training, reenact scenarios that took place onboard USS Missouri, and learn lessons about the history and heritage of the U.S. Navy and CPO community.
