Tech. Sgt. Brandon Hoke, 476th Maintenance Squadron crew chief, renders a salute to a pilot after hot pit refueling an A-10C Thunderbolt II, Aug. 14, 2018, at Moody Air Force Base, Ga. Members of the 23d Logistics Readiness Squadron preposition fueling trucks to allow aircraft to refuel without needing to shut down. This style of refueling is used to eliminate the need for additional maintenance procedures and to extend pilots’ training time per flight which improves operations tempo.
