Sgt. Collin Emde, team leader, 2nd Platoon, 402nd Engineer Company, orchestrates setting off a bangalore torpedo at Camp Grayling, Mich., during Northern Strike on Aug.14, 2018. The bangalore torpedo is an explosive device used by combat engineers to clear obstacles and enemy fortifications. The 402nd's training is part of Northern Strike, a joint multinational combined arms live fire exercise involving approximately 5,000 service members from 11 states and six coalition countries.
