3rd Fleet Commander Visits Seattle Firehouse

180804-N-SH284-0066 SEATTLE (Aug. 4, 2018) Vice Adm. John D. Alexander, commander, U.S. 3rd Fleet, sits in the driver's seat of Engine 40, as part of a tour of Seattle Firehouse #40 from firefighter Rich Cochrane during the 69th annual Seafair Fleet Week. Cochrane, a former Lt. Cmdr., worked for Alexander on USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72), and Alexander wrote the letter of recommendation that assisted Cochrane in landing a job as a Seattle firefighter. Seafair Fleet Week is an annual celebration of the sea services wherein Sailors, Marines and Coast Guard members from visiting U.S. Navy and Coast Guard ships and ships from Canada make the city a port of call.
