U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Thomas Colyard, noncommissioned officer-in-charge of Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island’s Shooting Team poses for a photo on Rodriguez Range at Camp Perry, Ohio Aug. 1, 2018. Colyard and the team were at Camp Perry for the Civilian Marksmanship Program National Matches, a culmination of their competitive shooting season. The National Trophy Rifle Matches are an annual sporting festival established by congress and President Roosevelt in 1903. The event welcomes over 6,000 participants, ranging from beginning shooters to the world’s top-performing competitors.
