Capt. Wallace Lovely, deputy commodore of Destroyer Squadron 31, welcomes Bangladesh navy sailors aboard the mine countermeasures ship USS Defender for a mine countermeasures subject matter expert exchange as part of Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training Bangladesh 2011. CARAT is a series of bilateral exercises held annually in Southeast Asia to strengthen relationships and enhance force readiness. Bangladesh is participating in this exercise for the first time.
