Air Force Maj. Ellen T. Canupp, a communications officer with Special Operations Command Europe, goes through Sustained Airborne Training with her partner nations parachutists, prior to a multinational fun jump, during the 2011 Jackal Stone Exercise. Sustained Airborne Training helps to re-familiarize airborne personnel with the different techniques they need to perform on the aircraft, departing the aircraft and when landing. The purpose of the exercise, being held in Romania, Bulgaria and Ukraine, is to enhance special operations forces capacity and interoperability between the nine participating nations, while simultaneously building cooperation and partnerships.
