A change of command and retirement ceremony were held at the Green Mountain Armory, Camp Johnson, Colchester, Vt., on Sunday, July 15, 2018. Brig. Gen. Michael Heston, land component commander, retired with over 32 years of military service. Brig. Gen. Rich Lebel assumed command of the Vermont Army National Guard.
