A group of approximately 12 young people wearing matching navy blue polo shirts and khaki shorts/pants are posing on top of a military armored vehicle, likely an LAV (Light Armored Vehicle) painted olive green. They appear to be participants in a youth program, identifiable by lanyards and name badges with 'CDA' visible on their shirts. A red fire truck is partially visible in the background left, and the setting appears to be a paved lot with trees in the background.

Students stand atop a Light Armored Vehicle during Marine Corps Recruiting Command’s 2018 Summer Leadership and Character Development Academy aboard Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia, July 19. More than 200 students were accepted into the academy, hand-selected by a board of Marines who look to find attendees with similar character traits as Marines. Inspired by the Marine Corps' third promise of developing quality citizens, the program was designed to challenge and develop the nation's top-performing high school students so they could return to their communities more confident, selfless and better equipped to improve the lives of those around them.
