    Gunnery Sgt. Edwin Johnson was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star medal for heroic achievement in connection with combat operations against the enemy while in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Following an ambush by enemy forces, Johnson suppressed the enemy fire, allowing his team to take cover.
