180716-G-ZV557-1106 PACIFIC OCEAN (July 16, 2018) A Coast Guard Tactical Delivery Team (TDT) perform a hook and climb operation to board the Philippine Navy frigate BRP Andrés Bonifacio (FF 17) July 16, during a training operation as part of Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) exercise. TDT members are part of the Coast Guard's Maritime Security Response Team-West and routinely train to board compliant and non-compliant vessels. Twenty-five nations, 46 ships, five submarines, about 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC from June 27 to Aug. 2 in and around the Hawaiian Island and Southern California. The world’s largest international maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity while fostering and sustaining cooperative relationships among the participants critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security on the world’s oceans. RIMPAC 2018 is the 26th exercise in the series that began in 1971. (U.S. Coast Guard photo by Petty Officer 2nd Class David Weydert/Released)
