MEDITERRANEAN SEA (June 29, 2018) An AH-1YW Super Cobra helicopter, assigned to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 162 (Reinforced), 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), prepares to land on the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS New York (LPD 21) June 29, 2018. The 26th MEU regularly rehearses day and night landings to maintain proficiency while deployed to the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations. U.S. 6th Fleet, headquartered in Naples, Italy, conducts the full spectrum of joint and naval operations, often in concert with allied and interagency partners, in order to advance U.S. national interests and security and stability in Europe and Africa.
