For Stacey Pavenski, 46, post traumatic stress disorder came with myriad symptoms, one of them being nightmares that continued to haunt her until relief finally came in the form of a 67-pound service dog named Memphis Belle. Midnight Sun Service Dogs in Alaska learned about Stacey’s difficulties through her husband Master Sgt. Pete Pavenski's squadron, the 301st Rescue Squadron, and gifted her the jet black Labradoodle in April 2018. Stacey is plagued with PTSD from her husband’s combat struggles that drove him to take his own life in their bedroom, Sept. 18, 2017, while she was in the kitchen. He was 45. The 301st RQS is part of the 920th Rescue Wing at Patrick Air Force Base, Florida. (U.S. Air Force photo by Maj. Cathleen Snow)
