Brig. Gen. Gordon L. Ellis, right, the 38th Infantry Division commanding general, receives the Indiana Recruiting Ribbon, Sunday, June 24, 2018. Ellis got a soldier to commit to the division which helped to improve unit readiness. "The challenge in leading by example is doing it," said Ellis. "So if I ask you to focus on recruiting, then I have to focus on it and do it too."
Personal, equipment and unit readiness help ensure that the Cyclone Division is prepared to deploy and conduct unified land operations for combatant commanders and to respond to any domestic crisis in support of civil authorities.
