U.S. Army National Guard Sgt. Robert Davis, Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa quick reaction force member, directs a Humvee during an active-shooter training exercise on Camp Lemonnier, Aug. 25. The active-shooter training was designed to improve the skills and readiness of service members involved. Davis is home-based with the 1st Battalion, 161st field artillery, out of Kansas. The Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa, under the command of U.S Africa Command, conducts civil and non-combatant military operations in east Africa aimed at enhancing partner-nation capacity, promote regional stability and dissuade potential local conflict.
